MME Sketch

Hey y'all!

Today I want to share the layout I made using this sketch from My Mind's Eye:

Ronda Palazzari MME April Sketch

This is what I made:

Everything here is from MME with the exception of the washi tape & the heart clip.
I used paper from the "Collectable" collection; chipboard pieces from "Kraft Fun Day" & older brads.
Two summers ago my kids fought constantly & I was exasperated! I offered them ice cream sundaes for dinner one night if they could go for an entire day without fighting. Well, it worked & I kept true to my promise. That is the story behind this layout.

I added some Liquid Pearls to the center of some of the hand-cut doilies & then randomly on the page also.

Thanks for stopping by. I  hope this Monday was good for all!

Another Thank You

Hi everyone! So it's Sunday and that means it's my day to post over at Lovebug Creations.
I made another thank you note as I have many to send to friends!
It's a pertty simple card but I am happy with the end result. I layered some patterned papers from my scrap stash, misted a flower with blue Glimmer Mist, added my sentiment with Pink Paislee glitter alphas & adhered a rumple ribbon in simply white. You can find it in the store in the "Just the Basics" collection.

Thanks for stopping by & I hope you all have a great day!!

Scrap Friends Sketch #12

Hi y'all!
I want to share this layout that I made using this sketch from Scrap Friends:

This was so much fun to play around with! Here is my layout:

I started with a neutral paper from Echo Park & cut the paper strips from pieces of Studio Calico & Simple Stories papers. The fun of this layout began when I started added all the bits & pieces! I lightly poured on some blue mist then ran it around the page with the stem of the spray bottle.
Thanks for looking!
Til next time.

Washi Tape Card

Hey guys!
My newest srappy obsession is washi tape. I buy some everytime I go to M's & have accumulated quite a stash. Problem is, I seldom use it! I decided today to make a card using washi tapes.
Very simple, but I like the outcome!

I stamped the lightbulb image on the tag & made the sentiment with my label maker. I used Caddy Blue rumple ribbon from Lovebug Creations. LOVE it!! One more thank you card done!

So, what's your greatest scrap obsession at the moment?
Have a great night!!

Little Moments

Hey guys!
I hope everyone is having a good Monday. Once we were able to get Tyler out of bed this morning, things were good here. He IS NOT a morning person!! He refused to get out of bed, stating that he was too tired! I had to pull him out & he fought getting ready every step of the way. I hope things get better over the years! Leah is so self-sufficient & responsible. I never have to tell her to do anything in the morning. She gets up & does it all on her own, even packs her own lunch now!

Anyway, I want to share my latest finished layout:

I used an old kit that I have had for almost a year! It contained the "For the Record 2" collection from Echo Park. I love the freshness of this collection! This photo was taken in the pool at Drew's mom's condo in Florida way back in 2009! The kids were so happy to be there & playing with the whale float she gave them. It seems like just yesterday.....

Thanks for stopping by!

Thank You Card

Hey guys!
Today I want to share the latest card I made (I am on a roll here)!
It's a thank you card (one of many to come) made for a friend of mine who was so generous to me on my birthday.
I started with white cardstock, added the blue & green pp from Echo Park, then laid the green scalloped cardstock over that. The ribbon is from Lovebug Creations' in caddy blue.  This color just screams Spring to me!! The letters are AC Thickers. I added a flower in the middle of the ribbon. A simple, but handmade card that will hopefully be appreciated by it's recipient!
Thanks for letting me share with you today! I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!!

You Silly Boy

Hey guys!
I wanted to pop in quickly and share my latest layout. I made this with my scrap club last Monday night.
This is Tyler dressed up in his big sister's dress-up clothes! He always keeps us laughing!

The alphas here are AC Thickers; the banner is from Heidi Swapp, misted with Glimmer Mist; the wood veneer circles are from Studio Calico. I also used my roll-a-stamp from We Are Memory Keepers. That is such a fun tool!
Have a great Saturday night!

40 Things at "40"

Hey y'all!
So yesterday was my birthday & I wanted to stop by here & share some thoughts. You see, I turned 40 & am having a hard time coming to terms with it!! I started thinking weeks ago about putting together a list of things I want to accomplish and/or work on this upcoming year.
I had a fabulous day on Saturday, filled with lunch out with great friends, followed by a fun-filled pedicure, then dinner out with my husband. After dinner, he placed a blindfold on my eyes & took me to my sister's for a SURPRISE birthday party!! There were close to fifty of our friends & family there. I was surprised, to say the least. It was a wonderful time & briefly made me forget the pangs of turning 40!

Here are the things I came up with for my 40th "bucket list":
1. Visit a new city
2. Lose weight
3. Exercise more
4. Read a book by the following authors-Chris Bohjalian, John Irving, Amy Tann & Margaret Atwood (some of my favorites!)
5. Work at being more patient
6. Bleach my teeth (petty, I know but this is something I've wanted to do for years!)
7. Take a hotair balloon ride (drew & I were scheduled to do this on our 10th anniversary, but the weather did not cooperate)
8. Read more with my kids
9. Laugh more
10. Continue exploring my scrapbook adventures
11. Make & give more cards
12. Make time for the people who matter most to me
13. Purge of house of un-needed/unwanted things
14. Get organized
15. Have a kind heart
16. Wear a smile more often (I was actually complimented for my smile today at the store!)
17. Learn something new
18. Play more with my kids
19. Do something that scares me
20. Volunteer
21. Try to be less regimented with our schedule
22. Go to a new music concert
23. Ride a horse again (this was a passion of mine when I was a child & my daughter rides now!)
24. Focus on the positive things
25. Eat at a new restaurant ( I love to eat out!!)
26. Learn to take better pictures ( for my birthday I got a new DSLR camera-the Canon 60D)
27. Follow my heart
28. Love more freely
29. Make healthier choices
30. Give back to our community
31. Say "yes" to more invitations
32. Live simply
33. Be less judgemental
34. Be more spontaneous
35. Spend more alone time with Drew
36. Count my many blessings daily
37. Let go of the "small stuff"
38. Work at letting go of resentments
39. Have lesser expectations of other people
40. Start each day with a positive attitude

I think if I can concentrate hard on the things on this list, 40 will be an awesome year!!!
Cheers to that!!

Love & Laughter

Hey guys!
I want to share the latest layout I made using Lovebug Creations rumple riibbon.
I started with this sketch from Pagemaps:

Here is my layout:

I used the rumple ribbon to make the center of the flower simply by scrunching the ribbon together and adhering it to my page. For this project I used Lady Jenna from the royal shimmer collection. These ribbons have a shimmer to them that is absolutely beautiful!
I also used a row of ribbon to create one of the strips at the bottom of my page.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all have a great day!

Getting Organized

Hey y'all!
I don't know about you, but I am a huge hoarder when it comes to my craft supplies. I thik this is partly because I don't have a good sense of organization in my scrap space & it's hard for me to remember what I have in my stash.
Last week when we were in Florida for Spring Break, helping my husband clear out his mother's condo, I had an epiphany. I don't want to hold onto things that I don't need/use. When we got home last Sunday, after some rest, I began the task of organizing & purging my space. I started there because I thought that would be the easiest place to begin. My hopes are that I can get through the entire house & rid our lives of what we don't need! I really want to simplify.
Here are some photos of some of the organization taking place in my small scrap space in our basement:
This is the closet in the room that doubles as storage for my scrap supplies & the kids toys/art supplies.
I bought some bins at Michael's to keep all of my paper scraps. They are sorted by size.
This fabulous armoire was given to me by my sister and I LOVE it!!!
I have used some glass vases to keep washi tape & my beloved rumple ribbons in. Ty made me the spice rack that houses some of my mists.
This shows some of the storage pieces I have on my desk for easy access to small supplies.
This basket sits on the corner of my desk & I keep all of my current favorite papers & embellishments in it. See, I am the type of person if I don't see it, I won't use it. So this has worked for me!
There you have a few photos of my organization in progress. If you have any questions, leave a comment & I'll gladly answer them!
I haven't scrapped in 2 weeks & am desperately in need of a fix!! Maybe tomorrow.....

Also, don't forget about my giveaway! You can read about it here.

You Are A Star

Hi friends & happy Sunday!
Where did this week go? It flew by! We had a great Easter & Spring Break in Florida!!! It's hard to believe that vacation is behind us & that the kids head back to school tomorrow. Bummer!

Today I want to share my latest card using Lovebug Creations rumple ribbons. (If you are looking for Kimi's birthday blog hop, go here.)
Remember a few weeks ago I made a card for my daughter for the end of the school year? Well, I figured it was only fair to make one for my son as well! He will soon finish up his kindergarten year & keeps reminding us that he is "almost a first-grader"! Here is the card I made using LBC "Lemonade" ribbon:

I took a chipboard star & added pieces of cut rumple ribbon on top of it. I then trimmed around the edges of the star with my scissors to eliminate the extra ribbon. I love the texture & dimension the ribbon gives!! You can check out "Lemonade" & all of the wonderful rumple ribbons in the Lovebug Creations store here.

Thanks for stopping by everyone. Have a great day & I'll "see" you soon!
