CSI #140

Hey crafty friends & happy Friday! It's a gorgeous day here & my cold is finally gone!! Yay-just in time for the weekend! It's going to be a busy one here again with riding lessons & baseball games tomorrow, a high school reunion tomorrow night (my hubs') & a trip to the pumpkin patch planned for Sunday. I also need to make some time to play tennis as I only played once this week because I was sick. So needless to say, the weekend will flyyyy by!

I was able to play along with the latest case file at CSI  recently.

I love the color scheme here & the fun "evidence" too! Here is what I created:
I started with the striped paper from Pink Paislee & added layers of other papers from Lily Bee & October Afternoon. Striped & dots were also one of the evidences. My tissue paper in green also has polka dots on it. I used a wood veneer speech bubble from Studio Calico & a wooden banner from Little Yellow Bicycle. I have some heart stickers from Crate Paper & a couple of cork hearts from Crate.
I used the word "explore" for my title & journaled about my son's fire house filed trip adventure on my tag.

Other supplies:
-chipboard buttons; enamel dots-My Mind's Eye
-5c flatback; label sticker; kraft feather die cut-Jenni Bowlin
- epoxy stickers-Glitz Design
-cork "love" sticker; corrugated cardboard "4"-Jillibean Soup
-border sticker; "love you" sticker-Crate Paper
doily-Martha Stewart
alpha stickers-Basic Grey

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful weekend!!

Thursday Layout

Hey y'all! It's a rainy, grey Thursday here. What better time to scrap?! I wish I could spend the day scrappin' away, but I have a million & one things on my to do list! We leave for the Bahamas tomorrow & once again, I am down to the wire trying to get it all done!
But yesterday I did manage to kick out this layout. To get started, I used the current sketch from Life.Paper.Scrapbook

and their mood board

Here is my layout

I was inspired by the colors in the mood board and the distressed elements.
I  used my punch to create the squares on the background. I cut out 4 2" squares, distressed them & then pieced them together to create a larger square. I did the same on the other side. All papers here are from my scraps drawer. I love, love, love the feeling of using up those scraps! Especially since I never throw anything away!
The gingham paper is from Lily Bee. Most of my scrap papers are from Crate Paper.

I used my Fiskars star punch to make the larger stars & the white, mistable ones are from Studio Calico, as are the blue stickers.
The "four" banner is cut from a journaling sheet of paper from Crate.
These pics are from Ty's 4th birthday. He loved Batman at the time. He has grown leaps & bounds since then!!
Thanks for stopping by. It means a lot!!

Rumple Ribbon Wednesday

Hey y'all & welcome to Wednesday! The middle of the week, but around here it has been a very short week.
The kids had off of school on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King day & yesterday they closed schools due to a predicted winter storm! So this week should be easy enough to get through!

I want to share the latest card I made using Lovebug Creations' rumple ribbon:
I wanted to make a cheerful card since the weather is cold & gloomy here.
I used a scrap piece of Fancy Pants' paper that I had left from their Collecting Moments collection. I accordion-folded this piece to give the card more dimension.
The "Simply Grey" rumple ribbon is from the Just the Basics collection. I added some gemstones to give the card some bling & more shine! The orange chevron paper is from Lily Bee's Pinwheel collection. The "thanks" chipboard piece is from American Crafts.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you're staying warm!

Let It Snow

Happy Friday y'all!!
Today I want to share my latest layout created with some of my favorite Lily Bee papers.
While we did get some snow yesterday, I didn't get any pictures of the kids in it as there wasn't much left by the time they got home from school! So this picture is an older one of Ty trying to make a snowball.
I applied the paint dots using a pencil eraser to the white cardstock. Here are some detail photos:

I am playing along with this challenge at 1 2 3 Get Scrappy:

I used the left row down-tear the edges, old book page & snow flakes.

Supplies:
-Lily Bee papers-Destination & Pinwheel
-Lily Bee Head Over Heels journal card
-Imaginisce journal spot (Let It Snow)
-Teresa Collins buttons
-flair button & wood veneer arrow from Scraptastic
-misc book paper & sequins
-Martha Stewart arctic snowflake punch

Thanks for stopping by!

Sketchabilities/Lily Bee

Happy 2014 y'all!!
I hope you guys had a great New Year's Eve & are enjoying the year so far.
We had a quiet night here. Drew was not feeling the greatest & I was still trying to bounce back from the flu. We went to dinner at a burger restaurant that Drew has been wanting to try for awhile now. Afterwards, we took the kids downtown to see the Christmas lights/decorations.

Then we came home & made a fun punch with the kids (non-alcoholic), watched the ball drop & swiftly went to bed!

I am looking forward to a new year & fresh possibilities!

I want to share  the latest layout that I created using Sketchabilities' latest sketch:

And here is my layout:

I had fun pulling items from my stash to create here! The rub-ons are older from 7 Gypsies; the Lily Bee paper is from one of my favorite collections! The background paper is from Glitz Designs. The alphas are AC Thickers & the starburst wood veneers are from Studio Calico. The banner at the top of the page is from Basic Grey & the date strip & "summertime fun" tag are from Elle's Studio. All of these products are so much fun to play with!! Love the result!

Thanks for stopping by.
See you soon!
