Out 2 Dinner

Happy Sunday afternoon y'all! I hope everyone enjoyed Valentine's day!! We had a fun day here, which included watching my nephew's basketball game followed by breakfast at the kids favorite pharmacy/breakfast spot; Leah, my sister & I went to our county's high school regional gymnastics championships & were amazed at what  the girls could do! I then took Leah & two friends bowling while Ty went to my sister's to play (some more) with my nephew. We dropped Leah & her friend off at her friend's house, where they were having a sleepover & went to dinner with my sister & brother-in-law while my niece baysat the boys. While driving  home from dinner it started to snow & the wind was wild! It was pretty but a bit frightening too. We were fortunate (& so grateful) that we didn't lose our power!!
It was a nice Valentine's day, all in all. Since it is that time of year, I am trying to scrap older Valentine's Day photos! I used a sketch from My Scraps & More Sketches to create this page:

Here is the original sketch

I used Bella Blvd's Kiss Me collection here. It is absolutely perfect for Valentine's Day!!

Before I started layering papers, I added some gold mist to my cardstock. I also layered some white thread underneath my photo.

I cut many banners & used the sketch pretty literally.

I added in a few strips of washi tape at the bottom of my layout & my title in alpha stickers also from Bella Blvd. The metal "xo" is from Studio Calico.

Thanks for visiting! I hope you have a great day!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I hope today is filled with all things sweet & lots of hugs & kisses!!

I have a card to share that I made for my Valentine of almost 23 years. ( We really can't be that old!)

I  used some patterned paper from my scrap bin from Glitz Design (the black & white stripe), A red heart shaped doily & the stickers here are from Echo Park. I kept the design simple as he is an understated guy. I did use my Fiskars border punch along the bottom edge of the white cardstock. The wood veneer alphas are from Studio Calico. I hope he enjoys the card!

Last Sunday was Leah's final Cotillion dance & it was the Cupid's Ball. Dad's took their daughters while moms attended with their sons. Here is a picture of Leah & Drew before they left for the dance. She said they had fun but she is glad the dances are over. I think the novelty quickly wore off!

We are headed out to watch my nephew's basketball game & then to a local pharmacy for breakfast that the kids love! I think we will also take them to get donuts to enjoy later.
Enjoy this fun day, y'all!
xo

Valentine's Day Cards

Hey y'all! Monday is here again which also means Valentine's Day is one day closer!! Do you celebrate? Are you ready? We don't do anything big around here, just some cards & candy. We might go out to dinner somewhere casual with the kids. 3
I have made some cards that I want to share.
The first one uses this sketch from Cardabilities

I used some old book paper and placed it on my cardstock. The heart-shaped doily is from my stash.

The wood veneer alphas are from Studio Calico. The black & white polka dot paper is old from MME, as is the enamel heart. The "Be Mine" die cut is from Crate Paper's Love Notes collection. I added some pretty white lace ribbon to give the card more interest. (This one will go to my daughter.)

The second card I made is for my son & follows the same sketch but is a bit simpler.

I again used the heart-shaped doily & old book paper cut into a heart. The "Love You" die cut is from Crate Paper's Love Notes collection again. I used the same b & w polka dot paper & an enamel heart from MME.

I hope they enjoy these handmade Valentines as much as I enjoyed making them!

Thanks for visiting!
Get crafty!!

I Love You

Wow-another post today! I am on fire!!
I love everything about Valentine's Day (I am a romantic at heart)-the colors, the candy, the flowers, expressing your love for others, even all the cute scrapbooking supplies! I have a PL spread to share with you that uses Valentine's Day supplies for a non-Valentine's picture. It's of my son (who was 3 at the time) dressing up in his sister's dress-up clothes! And check out  the adorable flair from The Crafty Pickle :

I used one of the flair buttons from the Watercolor Hearts set. It's perfect for just about any project!!

I also used the "Love This Face" button from the Everyday Photo set.   These are so much fun!!

(And oh, how I love that face!)

These journal cards are from 7Dots Studio; the alphas are AC Thickers & the sequins is also from The Crafty Pickle. Taniesa even creates custom flair buttons! Check it all out in the store.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day.

Valentine's Day Mason Jars

Hey y'all! Happy February, already!!
I am thinking about Valentine's Day, which will be here before we know it! I wanted to do something small for the kids' teachers, so I thought mason jars filled with candy would be perfect. Who doesn't love chocolate?!

I bought these jars at the dollar spot at Target then pulled out a bunch of Valentine related embellishments to decorate them.

The flair buttons are from The Crafty Pickle from the Watercolor Hearts set. This set is great for Valentine's Day & comes with six assorted 1" buttons.

I filled the jars with a bunch of chocolate kisses, a chocolate heart & candy bar. I think their teachers will enjoy them-I know I would! Now I just need to make a few more before February 14th!!

Take care & keep crafty!

A Birthday Card

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been MIA the past few days. The kids had 2 days off of school last week due to snow, so that really put a kink in the week!
Friday was Valentine's Day & they were home. We went to lunch with a neighbor & her kids & they all played together, which was nice & entertaining for them. Friday night we ordered pizza at our house with my sister, b-i-l & nephew & the same neighbors that we had lunch with. The rest of the weekend was relaxed but it flew by quickly!
Now here we are staring at Wednesday. I want to share a card that I made for a dear friend whose birthday was Sunday.
I originally saw a similar design on Pinterest & loved the patchwork design. My papers are all pulled from my scrap stash. I used Lovebug Creations' rumple ribbon in Hugs from the "Loves Me...Loves Me Knot" collection. This color is so very versatile! I have used it for both feminine & masculine projects. Love that!
In the center of my ribbon is a gem from Prima. The butterfly was cut using my Martha Stewart punch.

Thanks for stopping by today. Make it a great day!!

Valentine's Day Extras

Happy Hump Day y'all! I hope I don't sound like the Geico camel!

Today I am sharing a project I made for Lovebug Creations. Since I made this mini album for Leah, I needed to make an extra special, handmade, from the heart treat for Ty. This is something I originally saw on the web somewhere but can not remember now where! It is a "fortune cookie" heart.
I handcut 2 hearts from Echo Park's Head Over Heels line. I adhered them together, leaving the top open to slip in the tiny love notes. I attached some rumple ribbon in "Butterfly Blue", which is now retired from the store, but you can find many other beautiful colors.

Are you all ready for Valentine's Day? Be sure to check out the Lovebug Creations' blog and their FB page, The Lovebug Lounge for some great inspiration!

I hope you all have a great day & are staying warm wherever you are. We have snow in our forecast so I'm sure the kids will be home from school tomorrow. Oh joy!

The Latest

Hey y'all! Hope your Tuesday is going well. We are gearing up for more snow around here. And I am hoping that the kids are not out of school for another week!!!!

I wanted to quickly share that this layout made Top 3 at 1 2 3 Get Scrappy! What fun to see that on their blog!

Today is my turn to host a challenge at Memorable Seasons. Since February is the month of love, all of the challenges this month are related to love in some way or another! My challenge this week is to use a love poem, song lyrics or book script as part of your journaling.

My layout uses, once again, Echo Park's Head Over Heels collection. This line is perfect for these challenges!! And it makes me feel so happy!

The alpha stickers are from Fancy Pants & the buttons & sequins are from my stash.

I also made 2 cards for Alissa's challenge to use red:

I will give these cards to Leah & Ty for Valentine's Day.

We would love it if you found the opportunity to play along with any of the challenges this month! There is a store gift certificate up for grabs!! Shopping on someone else's dime is always nice, right?!
Scrap on!

PL Challenge

Hello Monday & hello blog readers!
There is a new PL challenge up today at Stuck On U Sketches! This week's challenge is to use a heart cut out. Here is my spread:
This page uses more of Echo Park's Head Over Heels collection. I'm tellin' ya', I can't get enough!

My PL cards are from Mambi. These pictures are from Valentine's Day, 2010. I love doing small, special things for the kids on that day. One treat they love (anytime of year) is Krispy Kreme donuts!

This month's sponsor at SOUS is Scraps of Darkness & they are offering a $25 gift certificate to spend as you wish at their store! So if you get the chance to play along, be sure to link up here.

Have a fabulous day!

Happy "Heart" Day

Hey y'all!
So it's Wednesday again, which means I am posting this week's project for Lovebug Creations.
With Valentine's day just around the corner, I got started on my handmade cards. This one will probably end up going to my husband.

I used some paper scraps from my stash and then added the rumple ribbon bow in the new color "Hugs", from the Loves Me...Loves Me Knot collection. What a gorgeous and versatile color!!
The gold letter stickers are from EK Success. I also made a coordinating envelope.

So are you making handmade cards/gifts for Valentine's Day? I love them!! Now on to making more!
Stay scrappy,
~Stephanie

Head Over Heels

I am in love with Echo Park's Valentine's Day collection, Head Over Heels! It is so fun & whimsical. There are so many cute little elements in this collection! Here, take a peek:

How lucky am I that I get to work with this kit this month?! Thanks to Memorable Seasons!
I also bought this Jenni Bowlin chevron washi tape  and these Fancy Pants' resin flowers. I thought they both worked so well with the collection.
Here is the first layout that I have created ( I believe there will be many more to come!)

The doilies are ones that I had in my stash. Of course, the alphas in "love"  are AC Thickers!

I didn't use a Valentine's Day photo, but instead, chose one that I adore. This is one of my favorite pictures of my kids. It was taken on our summer vacation in 2010! I think it really blends well with the papers & embellishments.
I am so excited to get back in my scrap room & create more with this kit!
Have a good day y'all!
