3 Label Strips

...is the current Project Life challenge up today at Stuck On You Sketches.
These challenges are always so much fun & a great starting point to creating your pages for your PL album, or if you don't have an actual album but just create in that style!
Here is my latest:

My label strips are from Elle's Studio, the Saltwater collection.
I have again used MAMBI cards, along with some K&CO & Simple Stories journaling cards. I began with my two photos and built the page around them. The wood veneers here are Basic Grey & the cute chipboard buttons are from Teresa Collins.
We took the kids to Jamestown & Yorktown Beach for the day & all had a great time. This was one of those days that you look back on with only good memories!!

We hope you get the chance to play along with this challenge! Link up here if you do. We'd love to see your pages!!

Enjoy these last two days of 2013!

Christmas Through the Lens

Hi everyone!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones. We sure did!
I want to share some of my favorite pics. I know I am late to the game, but the day after Christmas I got sick with the flu! I am just now starting to feel somewhat "normal" again!!! UGH!

Decorating their gingerbread house on Christmas Eve.

We all went to church with Mom-Mom on Christmas Eve.

Ty reading "Twas The Night Before Christmas".

Leah got a new bike from Santa!

Ty got a bow and arrow! (Maybe Santa made a mistake?!)

Ty got lots of Legos!!

And Leah got LOTS of 1D paraphernalia!

We all had a nice holiday, enjoyed with the family that we love so dearly.
Hope yours was special too!

A Lot Going On

Hey guys & happy Saturday!
I'm sure everyone is busy & has just as much going on as we do, if not more!
I want to share our happenings since I have been MIA around the blog recently.
Last Friday night Leah had her sleep-over birthday party (the first one we've allowed due to this crazy time of year, in spite of the fact  that she's been asking every year since she was about 6)! She & her friends had a great time & it went off w/o a hitch. It was very low key & easy!

Last Sunday, Leah, my mom & I went to a local church's Christmas play & really enjoyed it.

On Leah's 11th birthday, we took the kids to see Legendary Santa.

We finished decorating our Christmas tree & I got some cards made!

The kids enjoyed their "winter" parties at school & are excited to now be on break for two weeks!!

We went tonight with my sister, brother-in-law & nephew to see some of the Christmas houses around town.

And I was able to complete a layout for Sketch N Scrap's online crop. The challenge I played along with was this color challenge:

Here is my layout, using October Afternoon's Silent Night collection:

We are definitely staying busy around here! I hope you all are enjoying the magic of the season!
Take care,
~Stephanie

Hi y'all!
Things have been so busy around here that I never got a chance to share the latest sketch reveal from Sketch N Scrap!
Here is the fun sketch designed by co-owner Kelly Holifield:

We are teaming up with Scrap Our Stash for this sketch challenge and your requirement is to use 2 border punches and another type of punch on your layout to qualify for the prize we have lined up for one lucky winner at the end of the month! So yes, you will have TWO prize chances for this particular sketch challenge this time since you will be able to upload at SNS and over at Scrap Our Stash!

Here is my layout:
I used the Silent Night collection from October Afternoon, which was my December kit from Memorable Seasons.

I used 2 of my Fiskars border punches & my star punch here.

This kit has been so much fun to create with! The photo is from last December when we took a trip to NYC. We saw "Mary Poppins" on Broadway. It was an amazing show!!

Mama's Mesh Monday!

Hello again friends!
Two posts in one day?! Crazy!!
I now want to share my project for Mama's Mesh Mondays over at Lovebug Creations.
With Christmas sneaking up on us FAST (only 9 days away), I am trying to get everything done, in what feels like now, a mad rush! I made another tag to adorn someone's gift:

I love the texture & interest that the mesh adds to every project! Here I used the dark green from the Merry Mesh collection.

The snowflakes were punched with my Marvy Uchida punch. The brad is from My Mind's Eye & the "25" bingo marker is from Tim Holtz.

Thanks for letting me share another project with you today! I hope you all have a fabulous day!
Crafty hugs,
~Stephanie

Latest SOUS PL Challenge

Hi everybody & happy Monday!
Today I have another PL layout to share with you. The latest challenge is up over at Stuck On You Sketches. This go around it is to use a tabbed card. Here is my page:
I started with my 2 photos & added in the PL cards from MAMBI & from K&Co.

The chipboard elements here are also from MAMBI. The pink alphas are AC Thickers & the small letter stickers are from Fancy Pants. I used my tabbed card as a journaling spot! I don't keep a formal "Project Life" album but only scrap in that style when I want. If you have been too intimidated to try a PL album, do what I have done  & try scrapping in that style. You may like it!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope y'all have a great day!

LBC Secret Santa

Hi guys!
So today is the day for Lovebug Creations CT members to share their "Secret Santa" handmade items!!
I am so excited! I can't reveal who the gift is for, but I made a Christmas tree ornament.
I poured green & white acrylic paints inside of the glass ball & swirled them around. I love the marbled look. I then tied on the top of the ornament this gorgeous red rumple ribbon from Lovebug Creations. The color is actually from the Edgy Halloween collection, but the red is perfect for Christmas!!
I really hope the LBC recipient will enjoy this ornament as much as I enjoyed making it!
Have a great Sunday y'all!
Merry hugs!

No Way

There is no way that Leah can be 11 years old!!! It seems like only a few years ago that Drew & I were on our way to the hospital at 6 a.m. so that they could induce labor. But 11 years ago today, we were blessed with a healthy, beautiful & oh so loud baby girl!
We are both so very proud of the young lady she has become. She is sweet, caring, empathetic & ressponsible. It took a lot of sweat & tears to get to this point, but it was all worth it!
Today we took the kids out of school early & paid a visit to Santa (photos to come later-my camera is acting up)! Afterwards we went to lunch at Panera-Leah's pick & favorite restaurant.
We came home & she opened her birthday presents from us & the kids played around the house (it was another rainy & cold day here). I think she had a good birthday & we all enjoyed some special time together!

Here is another layout made using October Afternoon's Silent Night collection. I followed this sketch from Creative Scrappers:

And here is my layout:

  • Supplies:
  • October Afternoon Silent Night (Auld Lang Syne; Carol of the Bells; Joy to the World; The Holly and the Ivy; White Christmas)
  • Basic Grey wood veneers-Carte Postale
  • Martha Stewart Artic snowflake punch
  • American Craft Thickers
This sketch is being used as the sketch challenge for the day at Memorable Seasons. There is a sketch-a-thon going on this month! Try to play along for a chance to win a prize!

Thanks for stopping by!
Stay scrappy! : )
