Happy Mother's Day

Hey y'all! Happy Saturday! It's a beautiful one here & a great day for Little League baseball!
Ty had a game at 9 a.m. today & his team won!
This kid eats,
sleeps and breathes baseball! He is having a great season & made an awesome catch at third base today. We are so proud of him!!

And we are super proud of Leah also. She was inducted into her school's "A Club" last week for getting straight A's so far this school year! Proud mom moment that made me cry!!
(Leah with her good friend, Lauren.)

I wan to wish you all a Happy Mother's Day since I probably won't make it onto the blog tomorrow. I hope you all enjoy the day doing what you love best!!
Here is a card I made for my mom. I used this sketch from Cardabilities:

And here is my card:

I started with white cardstock for the base added layers of patterned paper from October Afternoon & Simple Stories.

I used a circle sticker from my stash (Pink Paislee) & the flower sticker is from Echo Park, also from my stash. I added the rumple ribbon on the side to bring in a feminine touch, along with the stem of purple flowers. I hope my mom enjoys it!

Thanks for stopping by today. Make it a great one!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I hope today is filled with all things sweet & lots of hugs & kisses!!

I have a card to share that I made for my Valentine of almost 23 years. ( We really can't be that old!)

I  used some patterned paper from my scrap bin from Glitz Design (the black & white stripe), A red heart shaped doily & the stickers here are from Echo Park. I kept the design simple as he is an understated guy. I did use my Fiskars border punch along the bottom edge of the white cardstock. The wood veneer alphas are from Studio Calico. I hope he enjoys the card!

Last Sunday was Leah's final Cotillion dance & it was the Cupid's Ball. Dad's took their daughters while moms attended with their sons. Here is a picture of Leah & Drew before they left for the dance. She said they had fun but she is glad the dances are over. I think the novelty quickly wore off!

We are headed out to watch my nephew's basketball game & then to a local pharmacy for breakfast that the kids love! I think we will also take them to get donuts to enjoy later.
Enjoy this fun day, y'all!
xo

This layout was inspired by one that I saw in an old winter issue of Scrapbooks Etc.
2.
I fell in love with this collection from Echo Park the minute I laid eyes on it!!

Another layout using the fun collection from EP!

11.
Another sketch layout! I played around with mists on this one.
12.
This one started with a sketch & ABC challenge. FUN!
13.

Christmas Magic-Stuck On U Sketches

Hey y'all! Today I am going to share my layout using the December 5 sketch from Stuck On U Sketches . They recently had some changes on the design team & did away with their Project Life challenge. This is my debut sketch layout for them!
Here is a reminder of the wonderful sketch created by Nanne!

What a great design! And here is my layout

I started with the "Deck the Halls" paper from Elle's Studio and added patterned paper layers, all of which are from Carta Bella. I distressed the edges of all my papers here.
I used die cut & vellum flowers and stars from Pink Paislee.
My doilies are from Martha Stewart. The date sticker & snowflake stickers that adorn some of the stars are from Echo Park. I love mixing & matching different manufacturers on a single project!
My die cut title is from Teresa Collins.
These photo were taken at a local hotel that goes all out on their Christmas decorations! We visit every year & take pictures. And yes, these are from 2009!!

We hope you find the time to play along! We love to see your creations. You have until December 18 to link up your layout.

Thanks for stopping by! Make it a crafty weekend!!

Thinking of You

Hey everyone! It's a busy Thursday here, trying to get the house clean & ready for Halloween tomorrow. We are having our annual pizza dinner here with family & close friends before we head out to trick-or-treat. I am so glad Halloween is on a Friday this year!! We don't have to rush & then scramble to get the kids to bed. We are gonna take our time & relax & enjoy it all!!
I am taking a little break from housework to share a card I made for a sweet lady that I play tennis with. She had surgery last week and was having a hard time. I hope she will only improve with each passing day! She is such a nice person.
I used Cardabilities  sketch #110

Here is my card:

I started with the kraft cardstock & added the scrap paper from my stash. I love the blue/turquoise against  the kraft!! The chippie flower is from Echo Park. The kraft butterfly is from Jillibean Soup &  the striped butterfly is from MAMBI. The wooden heart that I placed on the top of the chippie butterfly is from Studio Calico.
I used my Martha Stewart craft punch to create the branches. And the green button came from my stash.

I hope this card will bring Brenda a smile in a difficult time.

Thanks for stopping by.
Make it a crafty day!!

Another Layout

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend-I know we did!! I hate that it's coming to an end.
But the school week means that I get lots of scrappy time! And I am loving that I have found so many fun challenge sites to play along with!
This layout was created for the current challenge at Scrap & Play, which is to incorporate a top 10 list on your page. Here is what I came up with
I asked my daughter (who just started middle school) to list her top 10 favorites about her elementary school (she is missing it some now).
I also played along with Scrap Our Stash & stash challenge #18-Back to School. You can read all the details here
I used book paper & lined paper; a pencil (the sticker from Crate); paper clips; alphas & numbers.

I lvoe the way the tag turned out. I used the small cloud mask from SC & my Tattered Angels blue mist to create the background. The sentiment is from Crate.

Supplies: cloud mask-Studio Calico
-rumple ribbon-Lovebug Creations
-patterned paper-Crate Paper; My Mind's Eye
-enamel dots-My Mind's Eye
-stickers-Crate Paper
-"favorite things" & "no. 1" chipboard die cuts-Echo Park
-flatback-Jenni Bowlin
-Fiskars star punch

Thanks for popping into my lil' blog today! I hope you have a great evening.

A List

Hey y'all! Hope the weekend was a good one. We enjoyed it & were even productive around the house! It always feels good to tackle some projects and check off the list.
Speaking of lists, the current Project Life challenge is up today at Stuck On U Sketches  and it is to add a list to your spread.

Here is my page:
I used a mix of manufacturers here. The large leaf journal card is from Echo Park. The "remember this", "hashtag" & light green cards are all from My Mind's Eye's Now and Then collection.
My list contains several things we love about fall. The die cut leaves are older from Fancy Pants & the number stickers are also from Fancy Pants.
I love this photo of Ty at Field Day of the Past in 2010!! He was such a cute little baby still.

Make sure to play along with this week's PL challenge and link up here for a chance at this month's wonderful prizes! And don't forget about the anniversary blog hop taking place too. You can revisit the PL hop here and the die cut blog hop here. The sketch team's blog hop is happening on September 26, so be sure to check it out then!

Thanks for visiting!
Stay carfty!

Creating with Sketches

Hey y'all! Good Sunday morning to you.
With summer upon us & all the busyness behind us, I had time to play along with some sketch challenges this  month. And I hope to get more done in the next 8 days!

Also, a quick reminder that the 50% off sale ends tomorrow at Lovebug Creations. Use my code STEP50 to receive half off your entire purchase!! Now is the time to stock up on ribbon, mesh & more for your summer crafts! Click here to start shopping!!!

And now on to my layouts
These layouts are using sketches from Creative Scrappers. The first one uses their sketch #270:

And here is my layout:
I started with the patterned paper from Imaginisce & splattered mist about. I raided my paper scraps drawer to punch the squares (love using up those scraps!). The number paper is from Studio Calico, as is the kraft circle border, the wood veneer star burst & the star stickers.
The paper banner is from Basic Grey & I have been hoarding it for quite some time! So glad that I finally got it on a page-I love it!! My alphas are, of course, AC Thickers.
I added a few more bits & pieces from my stash. I adore this picture of Ty & his best friend Charlie in 2009 at Charlie's super hero party! They were so little & sweet!

The next sketch is also from Creative Scrappers, #271:

And my layout:
This page also used lots of scraps from Echo Park & Basic Grey. I love the gold doily paper from Crate paper & have been fussy cutting the doilies to make it last!
This was fun to create! I love adding bits & baubles to my pages & throwing things on here & there! Washi tape, buttons & sequins-oh my!! The ink & paint around the edge came last.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope it's a great one! Drew & I are off to see Zach Brown & the kids are staying with my mom & sister!

Scrap on!

Yellow

Hey y'all & happy Monday!
We are quickly closing in on summer-the kids have two weeks of school left!! Ahhh! I feel like there is so much to do before they get out but I don't have enough time! Where did this school year go?!

Anyway, today there is a new PL challenge up at Stuck On U Sketches & it is to use yellow. Perfect summer color!
Here is my page:

Lots & lots of yellow here! The "love" card is from MAMBI & I backed the words with different papers. I have also used a mix of Basic Grey, Fancy Pants, Lily Bee & Echo Park papers from my stash. The journal card is from Simple Stories. The yellow glitter alphas are Thickers.
I adore these pics of Drew & the kids building a sandcastle in Marco Island on our summer vacation-in 2009!

Be sure to play along with this, or any of June's challenges, & link up for a chance at this month's prize!
The Cutting Cafe is offering 3 sets from their store to one winner!

Have an awesome day!
