Finding Wings

Hey y'all! Hope this Monday finds you well. It is a hot one here & we are doing our best to stay cool.

I want to share with you my latest layout, created using the most recent sketch from My Scraps & More.
Katrina Hunt is the guest sketch designer & did she ever come up with a fun one!

Here is my layout:

I used papers from my stash for this page. The grey feather paper is from Studio Calico & the pink papers are so old I forgot who the manufacturer is!

My chipboard pieces here are from Crate Paper & are also from older collections. Love that I was able to finally use them!
The small alphas are from Tim Holtz. The arrow sticker is from Glitz & the white feathers are from Studio Calico.

More chipboard from Crate Paper.

I love these pictures form Ty's first day of kindergarten. He was so nervous & upset, but Leah was an amazing big sister & comforted him & even sat with him on the bus (for the first 2 weeks of school)! I love that she takes care of him (when she really needs to). I hope their bond only grows stronger as they get older.

We love seeing your creations, so if you are able to play along, link up here!
Thanks for stopping in today!

MSAM Sketch DT

Hey y'all! Happy Friday-I guess?! We got some snow AGAIN yesterday & the kids didn't go to school. I can't even tell  you how done I am with this winter weather!!! I am longing to see the sun & warm weather & to be able to get outside again. Hopefully soon!

I am excited to announce that I was chosen for the My Scraps & More Sketches design team! I am thrilled to work with some very talented ladies & such awesome sketches!! You can read the entire post here.
Today I am sharing my first layout with MSAM. This sketch is from Audrey:

And here is my layout:

I started by splattering gold mist around my page. The feather roller stamp is from Glitz Design. I used My Mind's Eye Market Street collection to create this page about my daughter's soccer team from when she was little.

The cork arrows from Jillibean Soup. I love the flow they lend to my layout! The cork hearts & stars are also from Jillibean Soup. The chipboard stars that I used here are from Studio Calico. They were very lightly misted with a red mist.

The wooden crown is old from my stash. As I'm getting older, my memory is failing me & I can't remember who made it!

This large paper doily is from My Mind's Eye & because I love it so, I have been holding on to it for some time!! My alphas & the asterisks are from AC Thickers.
I loved how this sketch used so many different shapes & bits & pieces! I hope you get the chance to play along. Link up here for a chance at  this month's prize!

Thanks for stopping by.
Get your craft on!

KG Love

Hey y'all! Happy Friday the 13th! Hope it's been a good day. Pretty quiet around here.
I took treats into Ty's class & Drew & I had lunch. We have no plans for the night, but it is extremely cold here so we may just stay in! Perfect weather to snuggle up & watch a movie!

I want to share my latest layout. I created it using this sketch from The Studio Challenges:

And here is what I came up with:

I pulled out my Crate Paper Notes & Things 6x6 paper pad. After dropping some gold mist on my page, I chose a few papers to work with. The beautiful gold doily is from Studio Calico.

All of my embellishments are a mix of Crate Paper products. The gold glitter alphas are from AC Thicker's-love them!!

I added some tissue paper underneath my photo for some extra layers. I was so excited to finally use so many CP stickers that I have had in my stash for ages!!

I have also been holding onto this photo of Leah from Kindergarten year (she is now in 6th grade)! I thought the papers worked wonderfully for this picture of my sweet girl.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a fabulous Friday!!
Hugs,
~Stephanie

Valentine's Day Mason Jars

Hey y'all! Happy February, already!!
I am thinking about Valentine's Day, which will be here before we know it! I wanted to do something small for the kids' teachers, so I thought mason jars filled with candy would be perfect. Who doesn't love chocolate?!

I bought these jars at the dollar spot at Target then pulled out a bunch of Valentine related embellishments to decorate them.

The flair buttons are from The Crafty Pickle from the Watercolor Hearts set. This set is great for Valentine's Day & comes with six assorted 1" buttons.

I filled the jars with a bunch of chocolate kisses, a chocolate heart & candy bar. I think their teachers will enjoy them-I know I would! Now I just need to make a few more before February 14th!!

Take care & keep crafty!

Use It Up Tuesday-October Afternoon

Hi y'all! Hope you are having a good Tuesday. The kids had another snow day here today! We got about 2 inches but it is all melted now! We were able to squeeze in some sledding at our favorite spot though this morning. The kids had a blast, even though the hill eventually turned into a mud pit! They had a snowball fight too. We came home & got into dry clothes & then went to lunch at Panera with some of their friends & my sister & nephew. They are now watching a movie while I scrap! All in all, it's been a good day!

My latest layout was created for the "label" challenge on October Afternoon's blog.
Since it is my "UIUT" post, I pulled older papers & label stickers from my stash.

These papers are from the Farm Girl collection & the labels are from several different collections. I used them around the page to do my journaling on!
To give my page some dimension, I added a doily behind my photo with some twine on top & an arrow sticker on top of the twine. A couple more label stickers allowed for the date & a sweet sentiment for my kids. My 2 LOVE Great Wolf Lodge & ask to go there every summer!!
The glitter alphas are Thickers from American Crafts.

I am loving all of October Afternoon's blog challenges! They are helping me use up my stash & break into new products too!!

Have a wonderful night & craft on!

School Days Mini

Hey y'all & happy Friday!! Remember when I shared this layout a few weeks ago? I am continuing with my guest spot at Nani ke Ola this month & was super excited to create this mini album using the 7Dots Illumination collection!!
I said before that this collection reminded me of school days, so I went with that theme again & this time made a mini album from all of the tags! Have you ever wondered what to do with all the tiny 2x3 sized school photos of your kids? I found just the right solution!! Now they can all be kept in one spot.
This is the cover. Everything here is from 7Dots (with the exception of my alphas & numbers, sequins, ribbon & birds' nest charm) & can be found in the store.

I used the smaller tags to put Leah's grade level on. They worked perfectly for this purpose!
Her school picture, along with a word or phrase & a sequin or two, & the tag is done!

And there you have it- a simple, but so very cute mini album to showcase school photos through your childs' school career!

extra supplies:
-alphas & number-American Crafts Thickers
-rumple ribbon-Lovebug Creations
-sequins-miscellaneous
-pearls-Prima
                    -keyhole charm-Melissa Francis

Thanks for stopping by today!
Stay crafty!!

7Dots Studios-Illumination

Hey y'all & happy Friday! Hope you are warm in your neck of the woods. It is cold & grey here, but this weather definitely makes it feel like the holiday season! I love it!!

I was thrilled to be asked by Jennifer at Nani ke Ola to guest design again this month! She sent me the Illumination collection from 7Dots Studios and I am loving it!! It is so cheerful & fun!
   Illum Complete Collection
I have completed one layout and have so much more left! All of the tags in this collection would make a cute little mini album and I hope to get around to creating one soon!!
The papers reminded me of school so I thought, what a great way to scrap my daughter's first middle school photo!
I began with the lined paper and drizzled some white paint on that. I then cut strips of the striped patterned paper to place at the top and bottom of my page. I am in love with the chevron paper from this collection, so I knew I wanted a lot of it to show on my page. I placed it in the center and used it as a large mat for Leah's photo.
The "enjoy" sticker is placed on a journal card that slides out from underneath Leah's picture. I used this to write some thoughts about the beginning of her middle school career!
Everything here is from the store, with the exception of the leaves, feathers, numbers and gold dot washi tape. The row of flowers above my photo is from Maya Road and came from my stash.
I misted my leaves to coordinate with the colors in the papers and then layered a feather & die cut on top. The chipboard pieces here are from UmWow Studio.

Thanks for stopping by today! I appreciate every visit and comment. I hope to be back soon to share more with this awesome collection!!

Stay crafty, friends!

Tuesday with LBC

*If you are looking for the SOUS Anniversary Pl Blog Hop, go here!*

Hey y'all! So it's been one week since school started & all is going well here! Leah still loves middle school & is adjusting beautifully. Ty is doing great with his morning routine & even with homework. So far, so good!!
Today I have a quick & simple necklace to share  that I made using Lovebug Creations' rumple ribbons.
I used Fool's Gold from the Lucky You-Lucky Me collection & Envious from the Loves Me...Loves Me Knot collection! I simply twisted the two ribbons together & slipped on the wooden bauble (that I found in my stash). Quick & easy for sure, but Leah loved the resulting product! (I may even wear it myself sometimes!)
Be sure to stop by the store to shop for these, and more, gorgeous ribbons!!
Stay crafty friends!

Thursday This & That

Hey y'all!
So the kids are adjusting well to back to school & their teachers & classes. Me? Not so well. I went to bed last night at 8 p.m. & was out like in a light! I am not liking these early mornings one bit!!

I am super proud of Leah & how well she is handling middle school! She was assigned her locker today & couldn't be more excited. She is liking all her classes & teachers & has everything organized & taken care of (I only hope her enthusiasm continues all year).
Her first day of pre-school (21 months old).
Her first day of kindergarten (5 years old).
Her first day of middle school (11 years old).

Ty is doing well with his routine & the mornings haven't been too terrible yet! If you remember, he does not like to be woken up & prefers to sleep til 9 or 9:30 in the morning! He is however, already moping & groaning over his homework & the hard part hasn't even begun (Lord, give me strength)!

It's hard to believe that we were spoiled with a beautiful & relatively cool summer, then on the first day of school it was 100*!! The poor kids got off the bus (which was 30 minutes late) soaking wet. I am ready for winter weather now!

I have a layout to share that I created using the August mood board from Life. Paper. Scrapbook

I was inspired by the chevron pattern on the blanket & the many, colorful buttons!
The background paper that I chose is from Fancy Pants' Meology collection. I painted a white rectangle to mount my photo on.
I then just started adding buttons, sequins & embellies that felt right. This is a photo of Ty & our dog Nellie from 3 summers ago. He thought it was hilarious when she jumped in his little pool with him!

The "forever" flair is from Scraptastic Club.My tag behind the photo holds my journaling & is from Pink Paislee, as is the "hello" die cut.

Thanks for stopping by tonight. I appreciate it & your comments sooo much!
