A List

Hey y'all! Hope the weekend was a good one. We enjoyed it & were even productive around the house! It always feels good to tackle some projects and check off the list.
Speaking of lists, the current Project Life challenge is up today at Stuck On U Sketches  and it is to add a list to your spread.

Here is my page:
I used a mix of manufacturers here. The large leaf journal card is from Echo Park. The "remember this", "hashtag" & light green cards are all from My Mind's Eye's Now and Then collection.
My list contains several things we love about fall. The die cut leaves are older from Fancy Pants & the number stickers are also from Fancy Pants.
I love this photo of Ty at Field Day of the Past in 2010!! He was such a cute little baby still.

Make sure to play along with this week's PL challenge and link up here for a chance at this month's wonderful prizes! And don't forget about the anniversary blog hop taking place too. You can revisit the PL hop here and the die cut blog hop here. The sketch team's blog hop is happening on September 26, so be sure to check it out then!

Thanks for visiting!
Stay carfty!

Creative Blog Tour

Hey y'all & happy Monday & middle of September! Holy-where is this year going?!

I was tagged by my sweet friend Pamela Lash (aka "Mama Lovebug") to participate in this creative blog tour & am honored she chose me!
I met Pam through Lovebug Creation's about a year and a half ago. She is the co-owner of the store and I was chosen to be on their first design team. I have had the best time creating for, and with, them over all these months. Pam is the kindest, most genuine lady & has always made me feel welcome & appreciated! Though we have never met in person, we have established a fabulous bond & of that, I am forever grateful!! I would love to meet one day & spend time crafting together-she is always such an inspiration. Thanks so much Pam!

So, here are the questions about me. I hope you enjoy!!
 What am I working on?
I am currently working on a layout for a guest design spot that is coming up very soon! (Be sure to check back for more on that.)

I am also creating a PL spread for my design team commitment at Stuck On U Sketches. While I don't keep a traditional PL album ( I certainly couldn't keep up with that), I do enjoy scrapping in that style at times. It allows me to create quick, more informative pages.
I am also working on printing pictures. I like to physically print all of our photos &  then I can delete them from our computer. I am about 3 years behind on this project!

How does my work differ from others of it's genre?
This is a hard question for me to answer! I feel like I tend to follow a lot of the current hot trends & techniques. I like playing with mists, paint, distressing but I tend to stay on the simpler side of things. As far as being different, I would have to say that I am probably one of the last scrappers who does not yet own a Silhouette! I do plan to ask Santa to bring me one for Christmas. We'll see if he complies!!

Why do I write/create what I do?
I think like so many of us, I started scrapping to record our life's memories. I began about 11 years ago, when my oldest was a baby, with the intention of documenting her first year. I wanted to be able to look back, as well as her be able to see her life recorded on paper, on what that fun & monumental time was like for us! And, as the story goes, once I delved into this hobby, I was completely addicted & knew I never wanted to stop!

How does your creating process work?
I usually start with an inspiration-be it a sketch or an online challenge-& build from there. I tend to let my photo dictate a lot of how my page will feel. If the picture is one of my daughter, I go a bit more feminine or for my son, I may go a little more grungy & distressed. I typically like to keep my journaling hidden, unless it's a quick blurb about where and/or when. I tend to grab whatever is laying on my desk to embellish my page with & Thickers for me are a must!!

I want to nominate my good friend Dorcas. She will be sharing more about herself on September 22. We met at Lovebug Creation's & I so enjoyed creating alongside of her & getting to know her. She is not only a great crafter, but she is sweet & amazingly strong & determined!! Check out her blog at  http://www.craftycardangel.com/.

Thanks for stopping by! See ya' soon!

Christmas In July!

Hey y'all & good Friday morning!
Today Lovebug Creations & Craftin Desert Divas are hosting a "Christmas in July" co-hop over on Facebook! You don't want to miss all the fun, wonderful projects & prizes!! You can get started here.

The project I made is a Christmas card. I used Envious rumple ribbon to tie a beautiful bow on the side. The stamp set is called Holly Day Punnies & I chose the "Happy H-owl-idays" sentiment. But, since I am such a huge dog love, I went in another direction with it! Here is my card:

I started with the white cardstock, that I misted with red mist from Heidi Swapp, & stamped the sentiment at the bottom.
The wood veneer dogs are from Studio Calico & were also misted, some in Dark Calico from SC & some in gold from Heidi Swapp.
The next step was to add all of the sequins! Oh what fun!! I love the festive look it gives my card! To add a bit more bling (because it is a Christmas card!) I topped the bow with a white glitter dot.

I really like the way this card turned out & know I'll be making more before December hits!
Be sure to visit all the stops on today's hop for some very inspirational projects (& the chance to win fabulous prizes)!!

I hope this got you in the Christmas spirit, albeit a little early!

LBC Spring Celebrations New Release & Blog Hop!

Welcome to LoveBug Creations Spring Celebrations
New Release and Blog Hop!!

If you stumbled upon our hop and want to start with our blog hostesses, then click over to
LOVEBUG CREATIONS blog
Spring is a time for Easter and Mother's Day events but it also signals weddings, graduations, family reunions, and more.  LoveBug Creations has some new awesome products to unveil today for your spring celebrations.

So do you want to add something special to your handmade projects?? If so, consider these new springtime collections for your crafting arsenal of rumple ribbon delights:

And for something different, we are releasing the beautiful Mama's Roses.
Each rose is hand-formed and hand-dyed; each has dimensions of  2"x 2" and can be used as is or inked, painted, stickled, and more - your imagination can provide lots of possibilities for these beauties - and they are feather-light so you can create lots of projects from layouts to cards to tags to mixed media creations to 3-D creations and more and not feel there's an anchor on your project, weighing it down!

And if that isn't enough... We've got 4 NEW Mama's Mesh Colors: Kraft, Ivory, Light Blue & Light Pink!!!
Also Mama's Mesh is now being offered to buy by the yard as opposed to in collections!

So settle back as we take you on a tour of spring celebrations and invite you to visit our LBC ONLINE STORE.

I altered these take out containers that I have been hoarding for ages! I thought they would be great to fill with candy & a gift card for a birthday, Easter or Mother's Day treat!

I adhered the sentiment cards (made by MAMBI) to the front & added a beautiful bow to each. I also thought a bow on the top of the containers looked like just the needed, special touch!

On the blue container I used the new rumple ribbons in "Buttercup" (yellow) & "Blue Bells". On the lavender box I used "Spring Lilac" & "Dahlia". All of the colors are so gorgeous & I can't wait to create more projects with them. The colors are just what I needed after a long, cold winter. You certainly won't want to miss out on these beautiful collections!

Now, how about some delicious LBC Blog Candy!
LoveBug Creations is offering a $10 gift certificate to our online store and several other items as well.

I made this card for a friend who is about to have her second child-7 years after her first!

I started with the digital papers from Fleurette's "Moonbeams & Fairy Dust" collection. The colors are so bright & vibrant! I punched the stars from their star paper. The ribbon I used here is Lovebug Creations' "Shamrock" from their Lucky You-Lucky Me collection.

My friend doesn't know the baby's gender, so I thought this looked neutral. Here is the inside:
