What's Happening....

Hey y'all! I know it's been a long time since I have been around this ole blog! And I have a lot of catching up to do!!
First, I want to share a gift bag that I recently made & embellished with flair from The Crafty Pickle. By the way, the shop had reopened so you can find all your flair button needs and more there!! And lots of new products have ben added!

I added the hearts flair button to the top of the fabric rosette and love the way this simple but sweet gift bag turned out!

While it's not a Christmas gift bag, it will be perfect to present to my daughter with a small gift or gift card for her 13th birthday next week! I am at a loss for words as we embrace on teenagehood. I can't believe Leah has reached this stage already!! I must say, for the most part, we are pretty lucky-she's a great kid!

Speaking of Christmas & he holidays, are you ready?! I am almost done shopping, however, have not done much in the way of decorating. We hosted Thanksgiving dinner for the family here this year so we were pretty busy preparing for that. Now I seem to have lost all motivation to get ready for Christmas! Hoping I find it soon!!! We did have a special guest arrive on December first:

Ty was so excited to see "Countdown" when he got home from school the other day! He had been asking when he would arrive for weeks!! The Season is upon us!
Make it a great one!

Finding Wings

Hey y'all! Hope this Monday finds you well. It is a hot one here & we are doing our best to stay cool.

I want to share with you my latest layout, created using the most recent sketch from My Scraps & More.
Katrina Hunt is the guest sketch designer & did she ever come up with a fun one!

Here is my layout:

I used papers from my stash for this page. The grey feather paper is from Studio Calico & the pink papers are so old I forgot who the manufacturer is!

My chipboard pieces here are from Crate Paper & are also from older collections. Love that I was able to finally use them!
The small alphas are from Tim Holtz. The arrow sticker is from Glitz & the white feathers are from Studio Calico.

More chipboard from Crate Paper.

I love these pictures form Ty's first day of kindergarten. He was so nervous & upset, but Leah was an amazing big sister & comforted him & even sat with him on the bus (for the first 2 weeks of school)! I love that she takes care of him (when she really needs to). I hope their bond only grows stronger as they get older.

We love seeing your creations, so if you are able to play along, link up here!
Thanks for stopping in today!

End of the School Year!

So our kids' last day of school was Friday & I am still in utter shock that the summer is upon us! This year flew by faster than any in my memory. I am excited for the kids as they both had amazing years. Leah got straight As all year & Ty received honor roll all year (all As & one B). Ty had perfect attendance & Leah was a member of the SCA, wrestling manager, gymnastics team & made the cheerleading squad for next year! Both of them made the year fabulous!! I we just found out that Ty made the Little League All-Stars team!

My niece graduated from high school this year so I made some cards.
I have use flair & sequins/confetti from The Crafty Pickle.

This card uses the ConGRADulations confetti. I made the cap from black carstock & created a tassel from twine  that I sprayed with black mist.

The next card I made is a general "Congratulations" card.

I used the stack of books flair button from the I Love Books set.  I also used some of the star confetti from the Cinema confetti set.
TCP just recently had a huge shop update so be sure to check out all the great products here!!!
Thanks  so much for stopping by today!

Stay crafty!

Patch Love

Hey y'all! Happy Thursday (it's almost the weekend)!! Today I am sharing my layout using the latest sketch from Stuck On U Sketches. The May 22 sketch was created by Leah.

Here is a look at my page:

I pretty much stuck to the sketch completely! I loved it and didn't feel the need to change things!
Most of my papers are older ones that I pulled from my stash, but the pink circle paper is from Bella Blvd. Sophisticates collection.

This photo is from our annual trip to the pumpkin patch, in 2010!! My daughter loves searching for just the "right" pumpkin! The wood veneer hearts & alphas are from Studio Calico.

We hope you get a chance to play along with this awesome sketch! Link up here- we'd love to see your creations!

Take care!

Then & Now

Hey y'all! I am here to share my latest layout using the current sketch from Stuck On U Sketches. It was created by Leah Schaeffer. Here is a look:

Isn't it so fun?! Here is what I created:

I started by using pink & blue watercolors on the white cardstock. I found this old picture of Leah on her toy horse from when she was 16 months old. Who knew then that she would grow up to ride live horses?!

I used a mix of journal cards, die cuts & stickers from Simple Stories I Am collection & some other stickers from Basic Grey's Capture collection.

I had so much fun creating this & loved doing the watercolor effects. I will definitely do it again!

I hope you get the chance to play along & link up with us!

Thanks for stopping by!
Take care!!

Happy Mother's Day

Hey y'all! Happy Saturday! It's a beautiful one here & a great day for Little League baseball!
Ty had a game at 9 a.m. today & his team won!
This kid eats,
sleeps and breathes baseball! He is having a great season & made an awesome catch at third base today. We are so proud of him!!

And we are super proud of Leah also. She was inducted into her school's "A Club" last week for getting straight A's so far this school year! Proud mom moment that made me cry!!
(Leah with her good friend, Lauren.)

I wan to wish you all a Happy Mother's Day since I probably won't make it onto the blog tomorrow. I hope you all enjoy the day doing what you love best!!
Here is a card I made for my mom. I used this sketch from Cardabilities:

And here is my card:

I started with white cardstock for the base added layers of patterned paper from October Afternoon & Simple Stories.

I used a circle sticker from my stash (Pink Paislee) & the flower sticker is from Echo Park, also from my stash. I added the rumple ribbon on the side to bring in a feminine touch, along with the stem of purple flowers. I hope my mom enjoys it!

Thanks for stopping by today. Make it a great one!

Joyful

Hey y'all! I want to share the latest layout I created, using My Scraps & More Sketches' sketch #105. This sketch was designed by the fabulous Audrey Yeager! Here, take a look:

And here is my layout:

I started with white cardstock & placed a large piece of paper at the bottom. I have mixed up manufacturers here again. Papers and stickers are from Simple Stories & October Afternoon. I love the way these two lines, I Am & Saturday Mornings coordinate!!

This is a photo of Leah with a Jonas Brothers CD that she was sooo excited to receive, Christmas 2010!!
I layered a couple pieces of paper & some white tissue paper under my photo.

I was able to pull out my favorite punch, the deer head from EK Success. I layered it on top of some fringe-cut tissue paper & added a rhinestone to the antler. The house sticker is from Simple Stories.

Here's another deer & my alphas are from AC Thickers.

I hope you find the time to play along with Audrey's awesome sketch! Link up if you do! We love seeing all your creations!  And, you'll be entered into the drawing to win this lovely prize!!

May Prize!

Stay crafty, my friends!

No. 1- A Card

Happy Saturday y'all! Hope the weather is good where you are today. It's absolutely perfect here! Sunny & 60*!! Unfortunately it rained mot of the day yesterday so Ty's first baseball game that was scheduled for today was canceled. Bummer!
Leah had her last gymnastics meet on Thursday. She had a great experience & loved being on the team. We were super proud of her for taking the risk of trying out & then making the team! I made her this card using a friend's Silhouette Cameo (I seriously need my own now)!

My alphas are AC Thickers & the flair button is from The Crafty Pickle. It's from their "Watercolor Hearts" set.

I used the circles & diamond shapes that were cut out of the light grey cardstock to adorn my envelope.

My birthday  is next month & I know what I'll be asking for!!
Have a fabulous weekend!

MSAM Sketch DT

Hey y'all! Happy Friday-I guess?! We got some snow AGAIN yesterday & the kids didn't go to school. I can't even tell  you how done I am with this winter weather!!! I am longing to see the sun & warm weather & to be able to get outside again. Hopefully soon!

I am excited to announce that I was chosen for the My Scraps & More Sketches design team! I am thrilled to work with some very talented ladies & such awesome sketches!! You can read the entire post here.
Today I am sharing my first layout with MSAM. This sketch is from Audrey:

And here is my layout:

I started by splattering gold mist around my page. The feather roller stamp is from Glitz Design. I used My Mind's Eye Market Street collection to create this page about my daughter's soccer team from when she was little.

The cork arrows from Jillibean Soup. I love the flow they lend to my layout! The cork hearts & stars are also from Jillibean Soup. The chipboard stars that I used here are from Studio Calico. They were very lightly misted with a red mist.

The wooden crown is old from my stash. As I'm getting older, my memory is failing me & I can't remember who made it!

This large paper doily is from My Mind's Eye & because I love it so, I have been holding on to it for some time!! My alphas & the asterisks are from AC Thickers.
I loved how this sketch used so many different shapes & bits & pieces! I hope you get the chance to play along. Link up here for a chance at  this month's prize!

Thanks for stopping by.
Get your craft on!

Use It Up Tuesday (on Wednesday!)

Hey friends!! I know I am a day late sharing my UIUT post but yesterday was busy around here!

My daughter made the middle school gymnastics team & they FINALLY got to compete in their first meet yesterday evening! 3 meets were canceled due to snow & missed school days! What a way to start an already short season. But last's night meet was a tri-meet that lasted for 3 hours!!! The girls did great (even though their team came in third) & all worked well together & were fabulous supporters for each other. It's so great to see Leah as a part of a team & bonding with some new friends. She only competes in beam, & while she was so nervous, she placed third last night! We were so proud of her!!

So, on to my layout! Last Monday night I attended my once a month scrap club (with a group of friends that I always look forward to seeing) & we began this page. I had to finish it up at home & this is what I created:

The papers were supplied by a friend in our group (I think they are from recollections?). I added some gold mist splatters to the white cardstock & placed some white tissue paper behind my photo.

I pulled out some older embellishments from my stash & started layering & adding!! The "party" chippie is from a pack of birthday-themed chipboard & is so old that I can not remember  the manufacturer! The silver doily is from Studio calico. I bent the edges of the banner pieces to give the page more dimension.

The flowers are from Prima & are, again, so old!! The date sticker is from Jenni Bowlin (a classic).

The cork tags above are from Scrapbook Circle & the flair is from Heidi Swapp. I placed a 9 (AC Thickers) on top of the star to note my daughter's ninth birthday. Her wish was to go to Great Wolf Lodge, so we took her best friend & my sister, brother-in-law & nephew went with us. It was a fun weekend getaway & she said it was "the best birthday ever"! That made it all worthwhile, even the fact that we got sick when we arrived home! Sweet memories were made for sure.

Thanks for visiting y'all!
Stay scrappy....
~Stephanie
