My Latest Layouts

Hey y'all! Hope this Wednesday is a great one! My kids didn't have school today (the UCI bike race is being held in our town this week, so schools in our county are closed today due to traffic).  We met some friends for lunch & then went to the mall (the kids got frappuccinos from Starbuck's). The weather too was great here-a perfect fall day!

I haven't had the opportunity to share my layout using the latest sketch challenge at My Scraps And More yet. The guest designer this moth is Melissa Mann. Here is the awesome sketch she created:

And here is what I came up with:

I loved all  the squares & the grid design on the sketch. I went with that for my page.

I used a mix of papers from my stash. The die cuts are from October Afternoon, Jillibean Soup & My Mind's Eye.

You can win this fabulous prize for entering the challenge this month-perfect for Fall & Halloween!

I also played along with Scrapbook Circle's sketch this month:

I used Studio Calico papers here along with chipboard pieces from My Mind's Eye. The butterflies were cut from a piece of laser cut paper. The "hello" tag is from Maggie Holmes.

Patch Love

Hey y'all! Happy Thursday (it's almost the weekend)!! Today I am sharing my layout using the latest sketch from Stuck On U Sketches. The May 22 sketch was created by Leah.

Here is a look at my page:

I pretty much stuck to the sketch completely! I loved it and didn't feel the need to change things!
Most of my papers are older ones that I pulled from my stash, but the pink circle paper is from Bella Blvd. Sophisticates collection.

This photo is from our annual trip to the pumpkin patch, in 2010!! My daughter loves searching for just the "right" pumpkin! The wood veneer hearts & alphas are from Studio Calico.

We hope you get a chance to play along with this awesome sketch! Link up here- we'd love to see your creations!

Take care!

Life Is Beautiful

Hey y'all! Hope you are having a Wonderful Wednesday.
I have a PL spread to share today featuring flair and sequins from The Crafty Pickle!

I have used the Autumn flair and the Autumn Sequins mix. The flatter back of these flair buttons make them easy to add to my PL pages & they fit in my album without a ton of bulk! Check out the awesome selection in the store.

The two larger journal cards are from WRMK & the smaller "Gratitude" card is from MAMBI. Fall is one of my favorite seasons & I adore these photos from a trip to an apple orchard that our family likes to visit. The flair & sequins helped give the feel of Autumn to my page.
Thanks for visiting today. Keep crafty!!

Let's Catch Up!

Hey y'all! Sorry I have been missing from the blog for a while. Things are very busy around here, but I'm sure everyone is feeling the busyness of this time of year. I started listening to Christmas carols on the radio & I am getting so excited for the holiday season!! My kids,on the other hand, are not thrilled by my early onset of Christmastitis! They better learn to deal, quickly!
So before I barrel head first into Christmas, I thought I'd share some pics from Halloween & our latest happenings. We had a nerd (albeit a cute one) & a werewolf roaming around here.

We all had a lot of fun on Halloween! We had our traditional pizza dinner with the family & our close friends & neighbors. Since Halloween was on a Friday this year, the kids stayed out longer & then we had some other friends join us at our house for a little adult & kid fun!!

The day after Halloween, Leah had a Cotillion dance to attend. She was thrilled to get dressed up & even curled her hair! The girls went out to dinner before the dance & had a great time!

We went with some friends to see Marvel Universe Live. It was exciting & fast-paced, but very loud & Ty was not a huge fan! But he did lose a tooth while we were there! He was excited about that. That was the third one in a week! And he lost another one today at school! He looks so adorable with no teeth in the front.
It has been a fun-filled month for sure! And it's flying by.
I hope it's enjoyable for you too!

Plaid-SOUS PL Challenge

Hey y'all and Happy November! Before we know it, Christmas will be upon us! And I couldn't be more excited!! Only 7 more Mondays-wow!
This Monday there is a new Project Life challenge up at Stuck On U Sketches . It is to use plaid somewhere on your spread. Here is my page:

I used some scrap papers from my stash & cut them to fit in the pockets.

The flocked alphas are Thickers of course! The scalloped vellum banner is from Crate Paper. The wood veneer heart is from Studio Calico.

This camera journal card is from We R Memory Keepers. The arrow paperclip is from Freckled Fawn & the wood arrow is from Studio Calico.

These pictures are some of my all-time favorite fall photos! We took the kids to a few different spots around town & Ty did not want to cooperate-until he saw the train tracks & cars! What a little sweetheart!!

We would love it if you all played along & shared your "plaid pages" with us at SOUS!

Thanks so much for visiting!

What's Going On

Hey y'all! I  know it has been a while since I last posted & things have been busy around here! It's a good busy, but I fear it's only going to get worse as the holidays draw nearer!!
Here is a quick recap of what our month looked like:
1. Baseball games & horseback riding lessons EVERY Saturday afternoon. I love being outside in the gorgeous fall weather!

2. Leah started Cotillion & loved it (even though she has to dance with boys who have hot, sweaty hands)!

3. A visit to the local pumpkin patch to get out yearly pumpkins! We really enjoyed the new farm we discovered this year (Lloyd Family Farms).

4. A trip to the mountains to go apple picking!! Never mind that all the apples still on the trees were rotten!

5. A visit from the tooth fairy-two nights in a row (a top & a bottom tooth lost)!

6. A get-together at a friends'/neighbors' house (always a great time)!
7. Shopping for Halloween costumes & decorating the yard (still have to do the interior of the house).
8. A horse show for Leah. She had a fall, but still placed fourth & second in two events!

8. Carving pumpkins!!
And we still have a field trip, Marvel Universe Live! & Halloween to get through!!
Whew!
I hope you all are enjoying this fun season!
Til next time,
~Stephanie

PL with SOUS

Good Monday morning y'all! Fall weather was upon us this weekend & it was wonderful! We spent lots of time outside at baseball games (Ty's team won!) & Leah spent all day Saturday at the barn. They are having a show next weekend, so the kids had a pizza & painting party to get ready! We snuggled together Saturday night & had family movie night.Sunday the kids decorated the outside of the house for Halloween; now I just have to do the inside! Are you ready for Halloween?

Stuck On U Sketches has a new Project Life challenge up today, the second one of the month, & it is a color challenge! Use orange, black & white on your spread. But that doesn't mean it has to be Halloween themed. I created a Fall page.

I went through my stash & first pulled my papers that had orange & black in them. They are older My Mind's Eye from their Indie Chic collection. My black & white journal cards are from MAMBI.

Then I went searching for embellishments!  I  love shopping my stash!!

I used some mistables from Studio Calico (misted with orange Heidi Swapp mist); some stickers from Glitz; & some paper flowers from Teresa Collins. And my page came together just like that!
We would love to see what you do with the color combo! Link up here  if you get the chance!!

Thanks for stopping by today. I so appreciate it!
Til next time,
~Stephanie

Love x2

Hey y'all! Hope this Columbus Day finds you well. Did you have a 3 day weekend? We did & enjoyed it for sure! Dinners out, a movie with friends, a day trip to a favorite apple orchard (even though the apples looked a bit rough this year, we still had a great day!) & non-stop family time made for a fabulous weekend. We didn't let the damp & dreary weather stop us!!
As busy as we were this weekend, I managed to complete a layout! I played along with this sketch from My Creative Sketches:

Sketches always seem to make my pages come together quickly & I love that!
I used a kit from Studio Calico. This fun cloud paper was screaming for me to create with!
Everything here is from SC, with the exception of the alphas, which are AC Thickers; the wooden bird; the scalloped banner which is from Basic Grey & the clouds & hearts were punched from Fancy Pants paper.
This sketch was so much fun to create with & I love the way my page came together! It feels so happy & serene. The photo was taken on Easter day of 2010. My kids were just little bitties here! I miss it so much.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your Monday night. I am gonna watch HGTV & take it easy.
Til next time~
