A Favorite Memory

Hey y'all! I know I have been missing for a very long time. I haven't been doing much in the way of crafting lately. Life has been busy with growing kids-one of which will be a teenager in a couple weeks!! Wish us all luck!

I am trying my hardest though to get caught up on older photos that need to be scrapped and getting my kids’ albums organized! It’s a big undertaking but I love making scrapbook pages & revisiting old memories. This one is one of my favorites!

puddles & rainboots

My son loved his red rain boots when he was three and in them he discovered the love of jumping in puddles! I will never forget how happy he was when we returned home from an errand & he was able to splash in the puddles!

This flair button is the perfect compliment to my page!! It is the “Favorite Memory” button from the  I added it on top of a chipboard circle which was placed on top of a cork circle for added dimension. I love adding thread on my page to lend some texture.

A few more fun embellishments and another page & memory are scrapped & ready to go in the album!
Thanks for visiting! Make it a crafty day!!

Shares-Use It Up Tuesday

Hey y'all! Hope this day has been a good one. We have been crazy busy around here with a trip down to South Carolina, baseball practice & tournaments, cheering, gymnastic, homework, & on!

I feel bad that I am so far behind in sharing my projects!!
I'm starting with the first sketch for October from My Scraps & More, #115. Here is the fun sketch:

And here is my layout:

I started with some ink splatters in black & gold & then added my papers under the photos. My papers are from October Afternoon's Saturday Morning collection.  I used a mix of embellishments from Simple Stories & Crate Paper. My flair button is from The Crafty Pickle.

My next project is another layout using sketch #116, from MSAM guest designer Jessy Christopher:

Here is my layout:

I used papers from my stash & grabbed some embellishments from around my space. I love using items tat are floating around on my desk & getting them on a page!

And my last layout is also featuring flair from The Crafty Pickle.

I used a button from the gold foil collection that I absolutely adore and one from the “Life Documented” collection.

I started with a sketch from Let’s Get Sketchy this month and kept my page pretty simple.

I love this photo of my two kiddos along with their cousins on St. Patrick’s Day! I wanted it to stand out and the flair buttons placed at each end of the picture really  help to anchor it yet also make it pop!

I chose the “Oh Happy Day” button to compliment the beige and green on the page.

The “Today” flair button worked well with the St. Patrick’s Day theme!
Try adding some fun flair to your next scrapbook page! I guarantee you’ll love the results!!

My Latest Layouts

Hey y'all! Hope this Wednesday is a great one! My kids didn't have school today (the UCI bike race is being held in our town this week, so schools in our county are closed today due to traffic).  We met some friends for lunch & then went to the mall (the kids got frappuccinos from Starbuck's). The weather too was great here-a perfect fall day!

I haven't had the opportunity to share my layout using the latest sketch challenge at My Scraps And More yet. The guest designer this moth is Melissa Mann. Here is the awesome sketch she created:

And here is what I came up with:

I loved all  the squares & the grid design on the sketch. I went with that for my page.

I used a mix of papers from my stash. The die cuts are from October Afternoon, Jillibean Soup & My Mind's Eye.

You can win this fabulous prize for entering the challenge this month-perfect for Fall & Halloween!

Enter here for your chance to win!

I also played along with Scrapbook Circle's sketch this month:

I used Studio Calico papers here along with chipboard pieces from My Mind's Eye. The butterflies were cut from a piece of laser cut paper. The "hello" tag is from Maggie Holmes.

Use It Up Tuesday-Travel Often

Hey guys!
So baseball is behind us (Ty's team lost their first single elimination game Wednesday night) and now we have lots of free time to enjoy the rest of the summer!! And boy is it zooming by too quickly! I can not believe it is almost the middle of August! Ty's All Star team played amazingly well & most of the boys were heartbroken when they lost, but Ty seemed nonplussed! Glad he can take the wins &  the losses with dignity!

Before it is the middle of the month, I have to share the current sketch challenge at My Scraps & More Sketches, #111. This amazing sketch was created by Audrey:

Here is what I created:

I used larger paper scraps from my stash. The blue/circle paper reminded me of the circles from the sketch so I figured it was a great way to duplicate the circles & use up some scraps!

The wood veneer globe is probably my favorite embellishment here! It is from Simple Stories' I Am collection. The "relax" chippie is from Crate Paper's On the Road collection.  My foam alphas are AC Thickers.

The "you are here" chippie is also from Crate Paper. The flower & "hey there" chipboard pieces are from My Mind's Eye and are very old! I have been hoarding them for years!! But, it's "Use It Up Tuesday" so I made sure to use some older supplies!

Bes ure to play along with this sketch & link up at the blog.  Here is what you could win for playing along:
August Sketch Prize!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to be back soon. Tomorrow we are headed to a water park with family & friends!!

Be Free-Use It Up Tuesday

Hey there friends! Is it hot where you are? The heat here yesterday & today is unbearable! While we love summer, the heat can be a real drag! (Makes for perfect crafting days!!)

I am here today to share my latest layout with you. I created a Fourth of July page using the All American flair set from The Crafty Pickle.
I have to admit, I don't create many patriotic pages! They intimidate me, but these flair buttons make the process fun and exciting!! I used three of the six in the set. be free
the crafty pickle flair layout
I hand cut several banners to accent the top corner and have one laying on top of my photo. I love how this takes away some of the blank space of my photo. I added a chipboard arrow & the "Happy Birthday America" flair. LOVE this one!

More hand cut banners under my photo act as a matt. I then mounted the "July 4" flair onto a punched scalloped circle. The paint here acts as my journal block.
layout created using the crafty pickle flair
A pre-printed banner at the bottom & "the Land of the Free Because of the Brave" flair finish off the bottom of my page.
All of my papers are from Authentique with the exception of the "bandana" print grey. That is from October Afternoon. My stickers here are also from Authentique & are from the same collection as the papers. They were received in a kit years ago & I saved them knowing that I would one day need them for a July 4th layout. So sometimes hoarding does make sense!!!!
I started with this sketch from The Scrapbook Circle:

I kept my layout pretty simple and love the dimension the flair buttons add to my page! I could have used them all but wanted to save the remaining three for another page (or maybe cards)!!
Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy the day & stay cool!

One thing I need to share is my latest layout foe the My Scraps & More. It went live on July 3 (while we were in Florida). It's another fun one from Audrey!

I used a mix of papers from my stash from October Afternoon & Simple Stories.

The flat back flair is from Jenni Bowlin. The "now" die cut is from Pink Paislee. The other stickers are from Simple Stories & the enamel dots are from My Mind's Eye. My alphas are from AC Thickers.
