The Winner!

Hey y'all & happy Fri-i-i-i-day!!
I want to first announce the winner of my RAK from the SOUS/SOD blog hop last week. Thanks to everyone who visited & commented. Your sweet words always make me smile!!
The winner was chosen from Random Generator, and #8 was chosen. So that means, Lost Coast Scrapper is the winner!!! Please email me your home address to dreweaken@comcast.net, so that I can send you your prize.

Another bit of exciting news, this layout was chosen as the "featured project" at 2Peas!! Wow! I was shocked when I discovered it last night. And I have to say, I don't know when it was chosen, as I don't go there daily. But it's still exciting to me!

Here is the latest (& possibly last) layout I created using Echo Park's Head Over Heels line:

I love these photos of Drew & the kids playing "Pretty Princesses", a game that Leah got for Christmas one year (2009). She was so giddy to see Drew wearing earrings & necklaces! And Ty wanted to play too.

Have a good day & great weekend y'all!

The Latest

Hey y'all! Hope your Tuesday is going well. We are gearing up for more snow around here. And I am hoping that the kids are not out of school for another week!!!!

I wanted to quickly share that this layout made Top 3 at 1 2 3 Get Scrappy! What fun to see that on their blog!

Today is my turn to host a challenge at Memorable Seasons. Since February is the month of love, all of the challenges this month are related to love in some way or another! My challenge this week is to use a love poem, song lyrics or book script as part of your journaling.

My layout uses, once again, Echo Park's Head Over Heels collection. This line is perfect for these challenges!! And it makes me feel so happy!

The alpha stickers are from Fancy Pants & the buttons & sequins are from my stash.

I also made 2 cards for Alissa's challenge to use red:

I will give these cards to Leah & Ty for Valentine's Day.

We would love it if you found the opportunity to play along with any of the challenges this month! There is a store gift certificate up for grabs!! Shopping on someone else's dime is always nice, right?!
Scrap on!

LCTS #159 & CSI

Happy Saturday  ya'll!
Today I want to share my latest layout for Let's Capture These Sketches. The sketch was provided by Jocelyne Roy & is another fun one!

Here is my layout using mostly all My Mind's Eye products:

The only product not from MME are the letter stickers from Simple Stories. I have adored MME for as long as I can remember & love how interchangeable all of their lines are!
If you get a chance to play along with the newest sketch from LCTS, be sure to link up here. We'd love to see your creations!!

This week I  had the chance to play along at CSI as a guest detective through the Flying Unicorn. What a fun pallette this was!

Here is my layout:

There are floral & stripes on the banner pp & hexagons; I used a flower & leaves; I documented a visit from Santa from Christmas of 2008. My journaling is on a tag behind the nutcracker photo & the tag has flourishes on it.
Thanks for stopping by! We are off to shop at some small businesses here!

CSI #45

Hey friends! The Flying Unicorn is the main sponsor this month at CSI. We are all thrilled to be able to play along with as many cases as we'd like!! I chose to start with this week's case file.

Here are the details:

And here is my layout:

I used the evidence: trees, book paper (the punched butterflies), wood (the wooden bead in the center of he green flower), metal (the bird on a branch-which can be found in the Flying Unicorn store). For the testimony I went with "add a button to your journal spot (which is under my photo), & inspirational words-home & family. My journaling talks about how "there's no place like home" takes on a new meaning when relating to the closeness of our family ties. I used the November KOM from Flying Unicorn, which contained all of the beautiful papers & elements seen here. You can check it out here.

Thanks for peeking ya'll! I hope to be back soon with Halloween pics & some updates. Things have been crazy busy around my way!
'Night!

Check It Out!

I had the honor of having one of my older layouts featured on the blog Practical Scrappers. They did a call for back to school ideas & this one was chosen! I was thrilled to get the email this morning from them. Here is the layout (I don' think I ever shared it here):
The photos are of me in 2nd grade & Leah in 2nd grade! It was so fun to compare our pictures side-by-side.

Hope you all had a wonderful Monday!!

Woo Hoo!

First off, I was chosen (or my layout was) as one of the Top 3 over at Lasting Memories!! I was so excited to see that when Drew, the kids & I got home from the movie this afternoon. (We took them to see Ice Age 3.)
This week's challenge is to scrap with black, white & a splash of color. I hope I can find time to play along.

Secondly, this post is my fifth day of blogging consecutively!  WOW! I don't know how I have managed that. But I do have to go get ready now to go out to dinner with some friends tonight. So it's a very short post!
I will try to post pictures tomorrow of my giveaway here!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! We had a nice one with lots of family time!
