CAS-UAL Chic Challenge

Hey y'all & happy Friday! We are all preparing for the effects of hurricane Joaquin. I pray we are not hit too hard & that we don't lose power! Hope you all are safe where you are too.

It's the beginning of October (so hard to believe) & that means a new challenge at CAS-UAL Chic!

It's a tic-tac-to challenge!! What fun! Here is the card I created:

I went with "stitching", "coloring" & "distressing".
There is stitching on the die cut circles at  the bottom of the card; I distressed the edges of my papers & colored some of the circles on the white paper.
I used the star Fri Dies & the twinkle stamp set to stamp my sentiment.

Thanks for visiting! I hope you find some time this month to play along!!
Stay crafty!

1st Day-PL Style Layout

Hi Crafty friends! Sorry things have been a bit quiet around here lately. We have been busy with back to school; a trip to the beach to visit my sister who moved to SC two weeks ago; and the normal busyness of life in the summertime!!

I'm popping in today to share a layout that I created in the PL style. My kids just went back to school last week, so in honor of the big day, I made a 1st day of school page! (Granted, the photos are from two years ago-but they're now scrapped!)

1st day

I used several flair buttons from The Crafty Pickle as well as some small stamps from Close To My Heart that work great for Project Life projects!!

I used a big mix of PL & journal cards from WRMK; Crate Paper; My Mind's Eye & Glitz.

Layout Thursday

Hey y'all! Summer is quickly coming to a close & as sad as I am about seeing my kids go back to school, I will say that I am looking forward to some "down time" on Tuesday! My house has been lacking on TLC this summer & I could sure use some quiet time (and scrappy time)!

I have a layout to share today. I played along with this sketch from Life. Paper. Scrapbook:

And I also played along with this color combo at Color Me Scrappy

I started with the gold mist splatters & then added some areas with blue mist. The flower pp is from Crate Paper & the yellow paper is from My Mind's Eye.

I stamped the word phrases with my Dear Lizzy stamp. The mini clothespin is also from Crate, as is the black & white flower.
This will be LPS's last challenge. They have brought such fun & unique challenges to the scrapbook world & their magazine was always full of wonderful inspiration! I will be sad to see them go!

That is all for today. I am really hoping to get some scrappy time in this weekend, although it's shaping up to be a busy one! What are our plans for the holiday weekend?
Til next time,
~Stephanie

Christmas In July!

Hey y'all & good Friday morning!
Today Lovebug Creations & Craftin Desert Divas are hosting a "Christmas in July" co-hop over on Facebook! You don't want to miss all the fun, wonderful projects & prizes!! You can get started here.

The project I made is a Christmas card. I used Envious rumple ribbon to tie a beautiful bow on the side. The stamp set is called Holly Day Punnies & I chose the "Happy H-owl-idays" sentiment. But, since I am such a huge dog love, I went in another direction with it! Here is my card:

I started with the white cardstock, that I misted with red mist from Heidi Swapp, & stamped the sentiment at the bottom.
The wood veneer dogs are from Studio Calico & were also misted, some in Dark Calico from SC & some in gold from Heidi Swapp.
The next step was to add all of the sequins! Oh what fun!! I love the festive look it gives my card! To add a bit more bling (because it is a Christmas card!) I topped the bow with a white glitter dot.

I really like the way this card turned out & know I'll be making more before December hits!
Be sure to visit all the stops on today's hop for some very inspirational projects (& the chance to win fabulous prizes)!!

I hope this got you in the Christmas spirit, albeit a little early!

Two Layouts

Hey y'all! I hope this day finds everyone well. We have a house full of kiddos here & A LOT of noise!! I have escaped to the office for a moment of solitude! We were supposed to go to the pool but the weather is cloudy & rainy, so it's another day at home.
I want to share my most recent layouts while I have a minute. I fear things could turn sour at any time!!!!
Both of these were created using sketches from Sketchabilities. The first one uses their sketch #116:

Here is my layout:

I grabbed a lot of supplies from my stash. The background was created with splatters of mists, stamped circles & a Dear Lizzy  word stamp.

The fabulous gold circle vellum is from Pretty Little Studio, as are the phrase die cuts. The "bliss" & heart chippies are from MAMBI. The gorgeous clay flowers are from Lovebug Creations. The bird/music paper is part of a Basic Grey packaging. The circle banner under the photos is from My Mind's Eye.
I had a blast pulling things & adding a ton of items from my stash!

This next layout uses skecth #118:

And here is what I created:

I stamped circles with black paint & then started layering! I used much of what I had laying on my desk for this one & what fun it was!!
All of the tags, the gold doily & the initial banners are from Crate Paper. I  used the gold circle vellum again from PLS. The glitter alphas are Thickers.

The "happy" chipboard, hearts & camera are from Heidi Swapp.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful Thursday y'all!

Watching the Fireworks

Hey friends!
Hope you all are well & having a good week. It has been a wet one here with more rain & storms forecasted for tomorrow! That means no baseball practice, & one little boy is not very happy. I am ready for the kids to be able to get outside & play-they are eating us out of house & home!!

Here is my latest layout created with Crate Paper's StyleBoard collection:

I created it for this month's challenge over at Kraft It Up
"BITS and PIECES -
This month your challenge is to create a layout using Kraft and at least 5 of the following six items...Layers, Sequins, Mists/Paints/Gelato's, Tearing or Disressing, Stamping, Arrows or Triangles"
I mean, how could I not-the challenge name is part of my blog name!!!

I stamped with my fave bubble wrap stamp, then sprinkled some blue mist around the page. Lots of lovely layers from StyleBoard  & some distressing at the edges of the papers. The sequins & arrows are obvious!

Thanks for letting me share with you tonight.
Hope you are staying dry!

Hello Wednesday

You are a godsend to me today! The kids were home from school Monday & yesterday due to snow, & I so needed them to go back today. I have so much to do & having the kids at home, while as nice & relaxing as it can be, puts a crimp in getting things done. They went in 2 hours late today but at least that gives me some time to get things accomplished.

Today is my favorite aunt's birthday, so I made her this card: Happy birthday Aunt Mary!!
I cut the circle from a piece of patterned paper from Echo Park. The ribbon "flower" is made using Simple Blue rumple ribbon from the Star Spangled collection. I added a Prima gem to the center for a touch of bling. The edges of the card are inked in a dark blue ink.

Tomorrow my husband & I will celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary!! How is that possible?! I know he really doesn't appreciate my crafting as much as he could but figured I needed to make him a card anyway!
The orange chevron paper is from Echo Park and the patterned paper that I fussy cut is from Pink Paislee (love it!). Here I used the Caddy Blue "On the Edge" rumple ribbon and tied it around the edge of my card. The sentiment is a stamp from Jaded Blossom from their "Wedding Wishes" stamp set. I hope he enjoys it!
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you all have a fabulous day!
