Baby It's Cold Outside!

That statement has never rung truer!! As a lot of the country is getting slammed by an arctic blast, I am staying warm inside & creating in my craft room. As long as there is no snow & the kids go to school, I will continue to enjoy these frigid days!
My latest creation is a card made using the most recent card sketch from Sketch 'N Scrap:

What a fun winter time sketch! Here is what I came up with:

I started with grey cardstock & cut the base of my card. The green polka dot paper is from Crate Paper's Notes & Things collection (love it). The journal card is from October Afternoon's Silent Night collection (an all-time fave of mine!). I used some paper strips from my stash & my new favorite punch-the deer head from EK Success.
I am going to have to find other ways to showcase this punch on my projects now that the holidays are over! I am obsessed with it!! The flair button is from The Crafty Pickle. Their flair is awesome!!
The small blue piece of paper is a scrap that I misted with blue & red mists. It was just laying on my desk so I grabbed it & stuck it down!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have a great weekend & stay warm!

Beach Beauty

Hey y'all! Hope your Monday has been good. Drew was off today & Ty was at baseball camp, so we got to spend some special time w/ Leah! We went to lunch & then she got a new case for her phone (that was her graduation present). I love having one on one time with the kids.

Today I want to share another layout I made playing along with a sketch. This one comes from Sketch N Scrap.

How fun is this?!
And here is my layout:

The 2 large triangles of paper are from Jillibean Soup &  the other papers are from Pink Paislee's Color Wash  collection. The chippie hexagons are from Maya Road & I misted them with 2 different colors. My alphas are Thickers that were originally white. I thought they looked to washed out on the page, so I colored them with a marker. And there is another gold doily from Crate Paper!

I used a chip button from Teresa Collins & that wonderful star confetti & sequins, as well as the heart flair are from Pretty Little Studio

This was such a fun layout to make & I love that in the end, I am thrilled with the way it turned out! Thanks SNS for the inspiration!!

I am wiped out & am off to sleep now! Good night y'all!

A Few Cards

Hey y'all! Hope you're staying cool wherever you are. The summer heat is upon us & is probably only gonna get worse! UGH!!

I am so far behind in sharing here, so tonight I want to share the last few cards I made.
This card was made for Ty's last day of school. He had an outstanding year & got all E's on his report card. I used the "Hey Kid" collection from Pink Paislee. You can purchase it at The Memory Nest

This card was made with some older scraps. I used this sketch from Sketch N Scrap:

And lastly is this card I made for my husband for Father's Day. The alphas stickers & "rock star" sticker are also from the "Hey Kid" collection from Pink Paislee.

I have more catching up to do but will save that for another time!
Have a good night!

So Proud!

The kids brought home report cards today from the 2nd nine weeks of school. We already knew what their grades were, but it's always good to see it in ink! Leah got all A's & Ty got all E's. Their teachers gave them both high praise for their attitudes & efforts. Ty also received a reward for being the most improved in spelling!
Ty is such a good friend also. He stood up for one of his classmates, who is also a friend/neighbor's daughter. She has a slight stutter & another classmate made fun of her for it. Ty told the boy not to make fun of her, that it was hurting her feelings & not nice. He also said "she can't help it; that's just the way she was built". Man, I love that kid!! Her mom told me that Anna said that night, as she was telling the story, that she was so happy that Ty is her friend! Awh! Heart warming, I tell ya'!

Here is the latest layout I have made using EP's Head Over Heels.
I started with this sketch  from Sketch N Scrap. The alphas are AC Thickers are the 3D hearts are from my stash.

We are ALL home today due to snow! The kids didn't have school & even Drew didn't have to go to work because of it. It's kinda nice!
Hope you are staying warm!

Sketch N Scrap #46

Hi everyone & Hello December!!!
WOW! I love this holiday season but am having a hard time believing that it is here & now upon us!! There is so much to do & so little time! Leah's birthday is in 9 days! Our house is a disaster zone from the renovation taking place. The kids keep asking to get a tree & I am stalling. Just need to find a little control before I dive in head first.

While I won't be creating a new December daily this year, I will try my hardest to stick with my idea to blog daily about our activities-"Hello December".

And since today is the first of the month, Sketch N Scrap has a new sketch challenge on the blog. Here is the fabulous sketch designed by Lisa Hidy:

And here is my layout:
I  used the Silent Night collection from October Afternoon.

The small letter stickers are from Jillibean Soup & the chipboard glitter letters are Thickers.

The green stars are from Pink Paislee & are misted with Glimmer Mist. I have used a variety of enamel dots on this page.

Be sure to play along & link up to the Sketch N Scrap blog by December 31 at midnight for a chance to win these fabulous mini bags from Webster's Pages (provided by Sketch N Scrap):

I hope you all enjoy this first day of December! I will be back tomorrow to share my kit from Memorable Seasons, more of October Afternoon's Silent Night.
Keep on scrappin'!

Winner, Winner & December Daily

Hi y'all & happy Hump Day!

I forgot to post the winner here yesterday from the Sketch N Scrap Holiday blog hop. I used random generator to choose the winner from the 12 comments, & number 11, Sandi is the winner! Please email me at dreweaken@comcast.net your physical address so that I can send you your goodies!

I also wanted to share my finished December Daily album that I started LAST YEAR & never completed!! I am notorious for doing this with my mini albums! Sometimes they sit for months & I don't touch them. I may create a few pages at a time, & most of the time, this works fro me!
I used this Teresa Collins Christmas Countdown memory album kit:

Teresa Collins - Christmas Cottage Collection - Christmas Countdown Memory Album Kit
Here are my finished pages (minus the photos & journaling):

While the kit was chock full of goodness, I also added a lot of things from my stash. I love to mix and match & pull from what I already have.
If you want to see the beginning pages of the album, check out this post.

So I finished this DD album just in time to start this year's!! Are you all creating a Decemeber Daily this year? What album are you using? I'm always looking for a good one!

Have a fabulous day!
Stay scrappy....

Sketch N Scrap Holiday Blog Hop

Hi everyone & happy Friday!!
Welcome to the last stop on the Sketch N Scrap holiday blog hop! Yesterday Stephanie Ho made a fabulous Rememberance Day project. If you have missed some of the blogs along the way, check out the Sketch N Scrap blog and follow the link on the right hand side.

For my holiday, I chose Christmas. No surprise there-it is my favorite holiday!!! And now it is right around the corner!
I made this gift tag:
I started by misting the tag with red & blue mists. I added the flourish from Teresa Collins & the snowflake on top of that. The Santa diecut is also from TC. The "joy" alphas are from Thickers.
I now have ONE gift tag ready for the big day! LOTS more to make....

Leave me a comment here & let me know if you are getting ready for Christmas already. Be sure to become a follower of my blog as I have a few Christmas goodies (& more) to giveaway! I will choose a winner on Tuesday, November 12.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Have a great day y'all!!
